In accordance with the Sunshine Law of Florida, these meetings are open to the public. Any challenge of a vote-by-mail ballot must be made before the ballots are canvassed, F.S. 101.68(2)(a). It may become necessary for the Canvassing Board to reconvene at times or places other than specified above. If so, the location, date, and time will be announced at the conclusion of the previous meeting, posted online at www.VoteIndianRiver.com, and posted on the door of the Supervisor of Elections Office.
Note: Section 286.0105, Florida Statutes, states that if a person decides to appeal any decision by the board, agency, or commission with respect to any matter considered at a meeting or hearing, he or she will need a record of the proceedings, and that, for such purpose, he or she may need to ensure that verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), if any person with a disability, as defined by the ADA, needs special accommodations to participate in these proceedings, then not later than two business days prior to the proceedings, he or she should contact the Supervisor of Elections Office at 772-226-4700.
